Maintenance Mechanic

We are seeking a Maintenance Mechanic to repair, maintain and upgrade production equipment. Complete work in a professional timely manner with little to no supervision. Demonstrate a high aptitude in a variety of standard categories of maintenance work such as hydraulics, pneumatics, plumbing, welding, HVAC, etc. Demonstrate leadership by setting an example for peers as a change agent for continuous improvement of production equipment, processes, and maintenance practices and procedures.

MAINTENANCE MECHANIC ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Install, modify, and perform advanced troubleshooting on a variety of food processing and packaging equipment. Must be able to determine extent of repairs required and carry out repair process.
  • Perform preventative/predictive maintenance procedures to include identification of equipment failure modes and resolution course.
  • Work with production staff to develop machine requirements for new product introductions.
  • Install electrical equipment and components.
  • Perform a variety of welding tasks (MIG, TIG, Braze, Arc, and operate cutting torch).
  • Operate a variety of machine tools to fabricate parts as required.
  • Install and maintain fluid distribution equipment.
  • Knowledge of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning equipment.
  • Train other employees performing similar and like duties.
  • Complete purchase requisitions and write work orders.
  • Complete other duties as assigned by Maintenance Manager.
IMPORTANT RELATIONSHIPS
  •  Communication with Maintenance Manager, Plant Superintendents, Production Supervisors, Plant Engineers and Production Workers
  • Collaborates daily with Plant Engineers, Maintenance Manager, Production Supervisors and Production Workers to identify and troubleshoot production issues
  • Works positively and effectively with a culturally diverse work force
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Two years of related experience or demonstrated ability to perform the essential duties of the position.
  • Good written, verbal, reading and mathematical skills.
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Knowledge and skills may substitute for experience.
