Food Extrusion Line Commissioned and In Production

Rice Crisps Pellets Food Extrusion Extruded PacMooreIn December of 2016, PacMoore proudly dedicated and ran first production on our full scale Coperion 120mm twin screw extruder at PacMoore Process Technologies in Mooresville, Indiana. This food extrusion system is expected to produce up to 3,000 pounds of a variety of finished products per hour. Equipment features include a preconditioner, conveyor dryer, classification equipment, metal detection and magnets.

Cost Efficient Large Scale Food Extrusion

After thousands of long hours of meticulous planning and construction, we are now ready to serve our customers in a cost efficient manner with products such as protein-fortified crisps, crisp grains, cookie inclusions, textured vegetable proteins, and precooked flours and starches. As you might guess, our extruder will produce food grade products with an emphasis on inclusions for further processing as well as select finished snack items.

Our Gridley, IL plant and pilot twin screw extrusion line are also very new, having begun operation in June 2015. The customer benefits provided here include new product innovation, cost effective validation runs before scaling up, and small batch production for low volume items. Our new production line in Mooresville will be able to produce quantities up to 20 times greater than our line in Gridley.

Our First Day of Extrusion

We have put together a 1 minute video clip taken on the first day of production for the new extrusion line. Excited PacMoore personnel were able to experience the first completed rice crisps coming off of the conveyor dryer.
