Our Maintenance Philosophy:
If it isn’t preventive, it isn’t maintenance.
Be Proactive. That’s the guiding principle of PacMoore’s production operations and the policies and procedures that drive them. It means collecting dust at multiple points in every production line, particularly at source points like dump and fill stations. It means incorporating magnets and metal detection into every system. And that’s just the beginning. PacMoore’s comprehensive policies and procedures cover:
- HACCP procedures and compliance
- Allergen control
- Microbiological contamination prevention
- Magnet inspection, placement and maintenance
for every process run to prevent metal contamination
- Protocols for evaluation — including metrics — and
remediation when contaminants of any kind are found
- Good Manufacturing Practices
- Planned Maintenance Programs
- Sanitation and housekeeping protocols and schedules
- Personnel practices
- Dry or wet cleaning protocols, as well as
sanitation
procedures for each piece of equipment
- Processing room sanitation procedures
- Broken glass procedures
- Product recall procedures
- Product recovery procedures
- Daily, weekly and monthly plant cleaning schedules
- Visitor and subcontractor security
Documentation: If it’s not documented, it didn’t happen.
Equally important, PacMoore personnel must document that such practices have been undertaken on schedule. And those that apply to specific processing runs are logged as part of that run’s customer record.
No other way.
Providing such thorough measures to ensure quality and safety takes investment, diligence and a commitment that many contract manufacturers cannot or simply do not make, for whatever reason. But at PacMoore, as a practical business matter and as a public health matter, we cannot conceive of conducting business any other way.
